The Schwanen Pharmacy Museum Bad Münstereifel in Werther Str. 13 - 15 was opened on June 6 and 7, 1997 in the building of the historic Schwanen Pharmacy. From 1806 to 1994, members of the Bresgen family of pharmacists ran a pharmacy business here before it was relocated to the industrial estate. Thanks to the support of the North Rhine-Westphalia Foundation, the Förderkreis für Denkmalpflege der Stadt Bad Münstereifel e.V. was able to acquire the building, restore it and set up the pharmacy museum.

In the museum there is the Stephinsky parlor, which commemorates the pharmacist and honorary citizen Franz Maria Ferdinand Stephinsky. He was a town councillor, monument conservationist and honorary citizen of the town for many years. However, his name is on everyone's lips above all because of the Stephinsky bitters he created. The actual Schwanen Pharmacy Museum includes the pharmacy, whose furnishings have remained almost unchanged since 1806; the laboratory, which is equipped with 19th century objects - including an impressive laboratory table (on loan from the German Pharmacy Museum in Heidelberg); the materials room, where the pharmacist used to keep his surplus stocks.

Incidentally, the latter room has been equipped with a “smelling street”:
The drawers of the shelf wall are equipped with an illustration and description of the “drugs” (medicinal plants) as well as a smell sample, thus inviting every visitor to become active themselves.

Special activities:
Sale of a bitters invented by the pharmacist Stephinsky in 1859 in the building that is now the museum.
