Historical open-air museum

On the 95 ha site of the open-air museum Kommen you can currently find 65 historic buildings from the former Prussian Rhine Province. Farms, wind and water mills, workshops, communal buildings such as the school and bakehouse, dance hall and chapel are examples of the building, living and economic activities of the rural population since the end of the 15th century. The monuments are embedded in a museum landscape with fields, farm gardens and orchards.
