When shopping, simply look out for stores with the „Tax-Free Shopping“ sign and have a corresponding cheque issued at the cash desk.
When leaving the EU, you present your purchases, receipts and passport at customs and have the cheque stamped. At the refund office at the airport, the VAT will then be paid out to you immediately in cash or credited back to your credit card.
